Eddie Taylor is a highly experienced mechanical engineer who has worked in the energy generation industry for over 40 years and has considerable senior project and technical management experience. He has received recognition within PB for his management and technical capability with the achievement of both the Senior Project Manager and Senior Professional Associate status. Eddie is the Director of Engineering for Asia and responsible for supporting the development of PB’s power capabilities in Asia as well as carrying out power related work in both the project management and technical fields.
Eddie’s experience in power plant technology has encompassed involvement in the development, design, construction, operating and maintenance phases of all types of power plant projects covering combined cycle, cogeneration, conventional oil, coal and gas fired units as well as geothermal power plants. He has also experience working as an owner operator, contractor and consultant as well as Lenders Engineer and is therefore able to apply his wealth of experience to overcome both technical and commercial issues which can arise during the course of a project. His current responsibilities encompass renewables including wind, hydro, biomass and geothermal.
Eddie is currently the Project Director/Project Manager for the PowerSeraya 800MW Cogen CCPP Project in Singapore where PB was appointed as Owner’s Engineer. Eddie was also the Project Manager for the 500MW Keppel Merlimau Cogen plant where PB were the Owners Engineer with Alstom as the EPC Contractor. Also the Project Manager of the 750 MW PowerSeraya Combined Cycle Project where PB was engaged as Owners Engineer. He was also part of the Bankers engineer team for the Phu My 2.2 Combined Cycle Project in Vietnam. He has worked on numerous assignments in many countries.
He has also overseen the implementations of a quality system within PB Power (NZ) Ltd to gain ISO 9001 accreditation.
Eddie’s specialist engineering skills have also supported project teams developing life assessment refurbishment and repowering strategies and their implementation as well as prefeasibility and feasibility studies in the development phase of IPP projects. Additionally, he has taken an active role in supporting professional associations and has several internationally recognised papers published.
